Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.6 / 5 from 5 reviews.
I think it’s a very pretty painting, but the colors were not as vibrant as I thought they weee going to be. Also, some of the paint was too dry and i couldn’t push it around easily, I had to blot the paint and it ended up being a little frustrating. But overall I’m proud of it and it ended up coming together nicely!! I would recommend

Like the other reviewer, I was worried that the trees would be tedious but I enjoyed all parts of this one!

Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all! Our kits are designed for both beginners and experienced artists. The numbered guide makes it easy to follow along, and many users find the process meditative and relaxing. Simply match the numbers on the canvas with the numbers on the paint and start creating!
Some colors, mostly yellows, whites, light pinks and pale blues, are semi-transparent, so the printed numbers and lines can show through after one coat. That is normal. Let the first coat dry, then add a second one. Painting the light areas before the dark ones next to them also helps, and avoid adding water, which makes the paint thinner.
If the paint is still wet, wipe it off with a damp cotton swab. If it has dried, simply paint over it with the right color once it is completely dry. Covering a dark color with a light one may need two or three thin coats. Acrylic paint is very forgiving, so a small slip is easy to hide.
Close each pot tightly after use, since acrylic paint dries quickly when left open. If a color has become thick, add one or two drops of water and stir. If it has dried out completely, contact us with the color number: within 60 days of delivery we send replacement paints for free.
It depends on the kit level, the size and your own pace. As a guide, Beginner kits take about a week of relaxed painting, Intermediate kits a little more than a week, and Advanced kits two weeks or more. A larger size or Premium detail adds time. It's not a race, so enjoy the process.
A pre-stretched kit is ready to hang once the paint is dry, with a hanging kit included. A rolled canvas can go on our DIY frame or to a local framer. Our canvases are made in metric sizes (40x50 cm is slightly smaller than 16x20"), so measure the painted area before buying a frame.

Rousseau never saw a jungle. He worked for years as a toll collector at the gates of Paris, which is how he got the nickname Le Douanier, and he taught himself to paint. His tropical plants came from visits to the Jardin des Plantes, the botanical garden in Paris, and from his imagination.
The Flamingos dates from around 1907, late in his career, when these lush invented landscapes had become his signature.
A Self-Taught Painter the Avant-Garde Admired
Critics often mocked Rousseau's flat figures and odd scale, but younger artists saw something fresh in them. In 1908 Picasso threw a famous banquet in his honor at his studio in Montmartre. Today he is seen as the leading figure of naive art, painting the world as he wanted it to look.
What to Look for in The Flamingos
Notice the scale. Some flowers are taller than the birds, and the leaves are huge, smooth and almost cut out. Rousseau loved repeating shapes in many shades of green, setting dark against light so each leaf stays readable.
The flamingos stand in a row, calm and still, which gives the picture its quiet, dreamlike feel.
Why This Flamingo Paint by Numbers Is Fun to Paint
Rousseau painted in flat, clean shapes with crisp edges, which suits numbered sections very well. The pink birds sit against layers of green plants and water, so start with the greens and save the pink for the end. You will see the flamingos jump forward.
