Van Gogh painted plenty of flowers, and Roses and Anemones is one of his quieter still lifes, an elegant bunch rendered in his intricate style and rich palette. As a Van Gogh paint by numbers it brings a soft floral note into a room. Try it in a dining room, a bedroom, or a sunny breakfast corner. A lovely gift for anyone who prefers his flowers to his stars.

🎨 Standard Detail – A great choice for a simpler, more relaxed painting experience. With 24–32 colors, it offers nice detail and a beautiful finished piece while keeping the project easier and quicker to complete.

🖌 Premium Detail – Our most popular option for the best overall result. With 48 colors, you’ll get finer details, smoother shading, and a more realistic finished painting. It takes a bit more time, but the extra depth and richness make it well worth it.

🏆 Master Detail – Our highest level of detail. With up to 60 colors, you get the widest range of shades and the smallest areas to paint, for the most lifelike finish. It is the longest project of the three and suits painters with some experience.

ℹ️ Please Note – The image shown is the original artwork for reference. We convert this artwork into a numbered painting design, so some differences in colors, fine details, and overall appearance may occur.

I loved doing this painting. A completely meditative experience with a very pretty painting at the end.

Customer photo review of Roses and Anemones - Paint by Numbers

Customer photo review of Roses and Anemones - Paint by Numbers

I love canvas by numbers products yeah. I’ve done several of their paintings and I always enjoy everyone of them. They come quickly and well packed. I’ll find that the canvas is very high-quality and easy to paint on compared to other companies. I love the color paints that come with the kit and the numbers are very easy to read yes and it’s overall great product. I’m very pleased

Fun painting to do although there is were many small sections

Customer photo review of Roses and Anemones - Paint by Numbers

Enjoyable project but a few comments. The photo clearly show a green vase but the paint supplied for that was beige. Boring. Was also disappointed that it was impossible to cover the numbers with the white, yellow and particularly the orange paints. I went over them multiple times after each layer dried and still can see the numbers. Either the printed numbers should be more subdued or the pigment in these colors should be stronger. Took me 26 hours to complete.

I offered this painting to my niece for her birthday. She thanked me for the beautiful painting. I ordered the one that has more colors. It`s going to be one that you keep for life. Thank you !

Guys bud try his give the invariably highbrow

There were some sections missing numbers. Otherwise it turned out well.

I'm very happy with the quality of the paints.

Canvas came rolled no creases and the canvas itself was the best I had in a while

It is a beautiful paint by numbers kit and I recommend it to anyone! I bought just the canvas but will buy a framed kit next time. ❤️

Love it!! Not for a beginner or a shakey hand!

Paint by numbers is my newest obsession and I just finished this one. It came out beautiful and I am having this framed because it looks like a real Van Gogh!! It was more complicated then other ones I've done but so worth it. I can't wait to get the Gauguin I ordered!

This is one of the nicest kits I have purchased! Materials are of high quality. Would purchase from this seller again.

Fun but difficult to see some of lines and numbers. Thank you :)

Good packaging, great colors that are easy to apply. delivered early

Arrived earlier than expected. Good quality canvas and paint. Great packaging.

I love this paint by number BUT it wasn't framed incorrectly:( There's about a quarter of an inch (on the right side ) that the border is stapled wrong. Other than that I'm really enjoying it. I should be done in a few more days

Great quality - and well packaged!

Arrived just in time for Christmas. Great condition, I am excited to start painting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! Our kits are designed for both beginners and experienced artists. The numbered guide makes it easy to follow along, and many users find the process meditative and relaxing. Simply match the numbers on the canvas with the numbers on the paint and start creating!

Some colors, mostly yellows, whites, light pinks and pale blues, are semi-transparent, so the printed numbers and lines can show through after one coat. That is normal. Let the first coat dry, then add a second one. Painting the light areas before the dark ones next to them also helps, and avoid adding water, which makes the paint thinner.

If the paint is still wet, wipe it off with a damp cotton swab. If it has dried, simply paint over it with the right color once it is completely dry. Covering a dark color with a light one may need two or three thin coats. Acrylic paint is very forgiving, so a small slip is easy to hide.

Close each pot tightly after use, since acrylic paint dries quickly when left open. If a color has become thick, add one or two drops of water and stir. If it has dried out completely, contact us with the color number: within 60 days of delivery we send replacement paints for free.

It depends on the kit level, the size and your own pace. As a guide, Beginner kits take about a week of relaxed painting, Intermediate kits a little more than a week, and Advanced kits two weeks or more. A larger size or Premium detail adds time. It's not a race, so enjoy the process.

A pre-stretched kit is ready to hang once the paint is dry, with a hanging kit included. A rolled canvas can go on our DIY frame or to a local framer. Our canvases are made in metric sizes (40x50 cm is slightly smaller than 16x20"), so measure the painted area before buying a frame.

Most orders ship from our California or Texas locations and arrive in 3 to 7 business days in the US. Canvas board kits and orders outside the US take 7 to 14 business days. The Shipping Information tab on this page shows the estimate for this item.

We will send tracking information to the e-mail address associated with your order once the item has shipped.

At Canvas by Numbers, we're proud of our exceptional customer service. Understanding the intricacies of art creation, we offer a 60-day guarantee where we'll send extra paints for free should you run out of any color.

Yes, safety is a top priority for us. The paints used in our kits are water-based, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. Likewise, the materials in our diamond painting kits are non-hazardous. Always use the kits as directed and keep them out of reach of small children.

When Van Gogh Painted Roses and Anemones

Van Gogh painted Roses and Anemones in June 1890, soon after leaving Saint-Rémy for Auvers-sur-Oise, in the last weeks of his life. It belongs to a group of cut flower still lifes from those final months. The flattened table, tilted view and bold outlines show how much Japanese prints shaped his eye.

Van Gogh's Final Summer in Auvers

Auvers-sur-Oise, a village north of Paris, was chosen partly because Dr. Paul Gachet lived there, a physician and amateur painter who agreed to keep an eye on Vincent. In roughly seventy days he made more than seventy paintings, among them village streets, wheat fields under heavy skies and portraits of Gachet.

Cut flowers gave him a subject on days he stayed indoors. He died at the end of July 1890, so these bouquets are among the last quiet pictures he made.

Painting This Van Gogh Paint by Numbers One Petal at a Time

The bouquet is the busy part, with many small petal and leaf sections in reds, whites and greens. The table and wall behind it are broader and quicker. A good approach is background first, then the vase, then the flowers from the darkest leaves to the palest petals, which keeps the whites crisp.

Let the outlines do some work. Van Gogh drew around petals and the edge of the vase with darker lines, a habit borrowed from Japanese prints, so keeping those lines clean gives the finished canvas the same graphic snap.
