Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.9 / 5 from 15 reviews.
Gorgeous colors and true to the website picture. My only complaint was that some of the canvas lines were blurry, making it difficult to discern the numbers. Fairly easy to as lib those areas, though.
I amazed at the quality of this kit! The final product came out beautiful. I got the DIY frame option, which was really easy to put together. I will absolutely be getting another one!
I really enjoyed this one. I have done two other paint by numbers and this one turned out the best! The detail is fantastic. The paint was good quality and not dried out. DIY premium
I have done a few paint by numbers and this one is my fav! The picture looks like the real thing! I like the reflection in the water! The paint is very smooth and I would def buy from here again!
Loved this! The paint can be a little bit thick and the brushes are bit thick as well, so I would suggest either getting some smaller detail brushes and/or adding a TINY bit of water to the paint to thin it out a bit so you can get more precise lines. Overall, loved it and just placed an order for an advanced level! This was my second paint by number kit, but the first one from CBN. I am very impressed!
Loved painting this ocean scene. Only problem I have now is I’ve run out of wall space!
The beautiful color combination and the uniqueness of the sea scape made me buy the kit immediately. The color combinations made the painting experience an exciting one. The paint was of good quality and enough to complete the painting. I loved completing this one and have received very favourable responses from family and friends since I posted it in my album for 2024. The sea scapes I have done thus far in Canvas by Numbers' collection is stunning.
Beautiful painting and relaxing to do. Giving it to my grown son at his request because he loved it! I also did the Monarch Butterfly. Turned out beautiful. I love your products.
Love the paint and the board the canvas is on. Worth the money.
I like the packaging with the frame. It would've been nice to have an option to buy an easel with storage, but I found one elsewhere. I really like this, but a lot of the lines are very tiny and are not clearly marked
Please note: I loved these two items! At first I worried they might be too difficult, but then I calmed down and realized all I had to do was paint one space carefully at a time, and in time it would all come together as my own masterpiece! And it did!! I just received 1142300 40x50 36 and1122704 36-40x50 and their boxes were smashed in the delivery, causing deep creases in the canvas with the sides of the canvases very rippled (not ripped). How can I smooth them out safely? Thank you, Mary Hill aratwa40@gmail.com
Thank you.
I enjoyed doing the painting. Thank you

Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all! Our kits are designed for both beginners and experienced artists. The numbered guide makes it easy to follow along, and many users find the process meditative and relaxing. Simply match the numbers on the canvas with the numbers on the paint and start creating!
Some colors, mostly yellows, whites, light pinks and pale blues, are semi-transparent, so the printed numbers and lines can show through after one coat. That is normal. Let the first coat dry, then add a second one. Painting the light areas before the dark ones next to them also helps, and avoid adding water, which makes the paint thinner.
If the paint is still wet, wipe it off with a damp cotton swab. If it has dried, simply paint over it with the right color once it is completely dry. Covering a dark color with a light one may need two or three thin coats. Acrylic paint is very forgiving, so a small slip is easy to hide.
Close each pot tightly after use, since acrylic paint dries quickly when left open. If a color has become thick, add one or two drops of water and stir. If it has dried out completely, contact us with the color number: within 60 days of delivery we send replacement paints for free.
It depends on the kit level, the size and your own pace. As a guide, Beginner kits take about a week of relaxed painting, Intermediate kits a little more than a week, and Advanced kits two weeks or more. A larger size or Premium detail adds time. It's not a race, so enjoy the process.
A pre-stretched kit is ready to hang once the paint is dry, with a hanging kit included. A rolled canvas can go on our DIY frame or to a local framer. Our canvases are made in metric sizes (40x50 cm is slightly smaller than 16x20"), so measure the painted area before buying a frame.
Most orders ship from our California or Texas locations and arrive in 3 to 7 business days in the US. Canvas board kits and orders outside the US take 7 to 14 business days. The Shipping Information tab on this page shows the estimate for this item.

At Canvas by Numbers, we're proud of our exceptional customer service. Understanding the intricacies of art creation, we offer a 60-day guarantee where we'll send extra paints for free should you run out of any color.

How Ocean Sunrise Uses Pastel Light
Instead of one bright sun and hard contrast, this sunrise spreads color slowly across the horizon in pale pink, soft gold and quiet blue. The same tones repeat in loose ripples on the water, just as they do on a real calm morning at the beach.
Tips for Painting Soft Gradients
Pastel scenes reward gentle blending. Work from the top of the sky down, keep a damp brush, and soften the line where one shade meets the next. Do the water after the sky so you can match the reflection. The result is calming rather than technical, which makes it a nice project to unwind with.
It works well in a bedroom or bathroom, anywhere you want a soft view first thing in the morning.
Our seascape paint by numbers collection has more coastal scenes, and Sunkissed Waters is another gentle pastel seascape.
