David Galchutt's Dancing Lobsters

David Galchutt is an illustrator with a playful, decorative style, and Lobster Dance shows him at his most cheerful. Bright red lobsters twirl through the design as if a party had broken out on the sea floor. It is pure fun, with no serious message beyond making you smile.

Where Do Lobsters Look Best?

A beach house kitchen is the obvious spot, but it also works in a coastal bathroom, a cottage hallway or a summer rental that needs one fun piece. Folks from Maine, Cape Cod or anyone who spends summers at a seafood shack will get the joke right away.

Diamond Painting Lobster Dance

The lobsters' reds and oranges are bold and clearly separated from the background, so the figures appear fast. Claws, antennae and legs are the finer parts, with thin lines of color.

Do the background first, then the lobster bodies, and save the claws and antennae for last when you have a steady hand. Find more playful designs in our diamond painting kits.
