Thrilled with how this turned out, only my 2nd PBN ever. The 48 colour version is fiddly in parts, but the impressionistic, impasto quality is quite forgiving
I spend about an hour on it every day, and it has become an essential part of my daily routine. I usually work on it right after finishing and clearing up dinner, and focusing on the art helps me unwind and settle my thoughts for the day. Very pleased with the quicker than expected delivery, good quality canvas and plenty of plaint. As usual the accompanying picture is very small so I find its handy to have the picture on my tablet I can refer to, as some similar colours don’t translate too well. Overall I was happy with the finished picture although I did use a bit of artistic license to make it look like the finished article.
I just finished painting that and I really loved it. It was fun, sometimes difficult but the result is fantastic. I loved the contrast between the dark of the background and the brightness of the flowers, specially the yellow. The red flowers are pretty but le details are not as good. I really loved spending quite some time trying to do my best. It was my first try at painting by numbers. It is the first of many for me. Very relaxing.

Not at all! Our kits are designed for both beginners and experienced artists. The numbered guide makes it easy to follow along, and many users find the process meditative and relaxing. Simply match the numbers on the canvas with the numbers on the paint and start creating!
Some colors, mostly yellows, whites, light pinks and pale blues, are semi-transparent, so the printed numbers and lines can show through after one coat. That is normal. Let the first coat dry, then add a second one. Painting the light areas before the dark ones next to them also helps, and avoid adding water, which makes the paint thinner.
If the paint is still wet, wipe it off with a damp cotton swab. If it has dried, simply paint over it with the right color once it is completely dry. Covering a dark color with a light one may need two or three thin coats. Acrylic paint is very forgiving, so a small slip is easy to hide.
Close each pot tightly after use, since acrylic paint dries quickly when left open. If a color has become thick, add one or two drops of water and stir. If it has dried out completely, contact us with the color number: within 60 days of delivery we send replacement paints for free.
It depends on the kit level, the size and your own pace. As a guide, Beginner kits take about a week of relaxed painting, Intermediate kits a little more than a week, and Advanced kits two weeks or more. A larger size or Premium detail adds time. It's not a race, so enjoy the process.
A pre-stretched kit is ready to hang once the paint is dry, with a hanging kit included. A rolled canvas can go on our DIY frame or to a local framer. Our canvases are made in metric sizes (40x50 cm is slightly smaller than 16x20"), so measure the painted area before buying a frame.

Fantin-Latour (1836 to 1904) was a French painter who moved in the same Paris circles as Manet and Whistler. Whistler introduced him to English buyers, and his flower pieces sold so well in England that they funded his more ambitious portraits and group scenes. He painted his arrangements with a quiet, almost scientific eye.
Fantin-Latour is also known for his group portraits of artist friends. A Studio at Les Batignolles (1870) shows Manet at the easel surrounded by younger painters, including Renoir and Monet, along with the writer Émile Zola. He admired their work but kept to a calmer, more traditional finish in his own.
His wife, Victoria Dubourg, was a flower painter too, and a much loved old garden rose is named Fantin-Latour in his honor.
He usually set a loose bunch of garden flowers against a plain, softly toned background, with no grand table setting or fancy props. The light falls gently, the petals overlap naturally, and nothing feels staged. That simplicity is why his flower pieces still look fresh on a modern wall.
This intermediate kit leans on close color steps rather than strong contrast. Petals shift from cream to pale pink to rose in small sections, and the plain background lets them glow. Fill the background first so the flowers have something to sit against, then paint each bloom from shadow to highlight.
