German photographer Peter Herrmann came across this classic truck forgotten deep in the woods, and his photo is the source of this design. It's a quiet, slightly mysterious scene of nature reclaiming an old machine.

The Photograph Behind Abandoned Truck

German photographer Peter Herrmann found this old truck sitting in the woods, slowly being swallowed by vines and undergrowth. He did not stage the scene. The drama comes from the quiet: rust, moss and leaves taking back a machine somebody once drove every day.

How the Truck Diamond Painting Comes Together

The truck itself is a block of weathered reds, browns and grays with crisp edges around the grille, wheels and windows. The forest around it is made of many greens that shift in small steps. Many crafters like to finish the truck first, since it is the anchor, and then work outward into the foliage row by row.

It suits a den, garage or workshop, and makes a good gift for anyone who restores old vehicles. You will find more unusual landscape subjects in our diamond painting collection.
