Customer photo review of Colorful Butterflies Painting

I’ve done a few canvases now, and they have been really true to what is displayed on the website. This was definitely an anomaly. The picture on the website is bright and effervescent with lots of blue and clear, distinct images. The picture enclosed with the kit and the actual results were dark, without the bright colors. I’m hoping to attach a screenshot of the website alongside the kit example and the finished product.

A Dream Built From Wings

This paint by numbers rendering of Colorful Butterflies leans into Odilon Redon's Symbolist roots, treating the butterflies less as a nature study and more as a dreamlike tableau, meticulous detail combined with an almost fantastical sense of color and light.

Detail That Rewards a Patient Brush

The layered wing patterns give this intermediate kit real depth, with careful shading needed to capture the same imaginative, jewel-like quality found in Redon's original.

Fantasy Meets Natural Beauty

For more of Redon's dreamlike nature studies, our animal paint by numbers collection includes other pieces that blend realism with imagination.
