About the Original Painting
\This kit is based on Claude Monet's Customs House, Morning (1882). Monet created his coastal series in the moment in Normandy, fascinated by the light at the changing weather by the sea. This painting shows Monet's ability to translate slight movement into the movement of his brush. The customs house, customs house, as it were, is solid and stationary in the painting, establishing a grounded perspective for the viewer while the ocean and sky shift around it.
Paint the Light of the Coast
\The best part about making this painting will be the soft color palettes and textural layering involved. You'll move from warm light of the sun hitting a stone to cool blue and greens of the waters. There will be a breezy sensation in the final project and similarly, painting it will be a rhythmic experience; perfect for slow, intentional working or weekend bursts.
Great for Impressionism Lovers
\Monet's technique involves not-too-tight brushstrokes, natural lighting and subtle contrast, making paint by numbers an excellent choice for recreating his work. This scene is even better because it's simple enough compositionally yet detailed enough for engagement without frustration; no experience need be had with art prior, just time and interest in bringing a landscape to life.
