This has been an incredible challenge but I have loved every minute of it! About to order another!!
This took a very long time to do as I had to paint the entire thing using a magnifying glass due to the very small spaces. It looks great in the end. If you like super detail and have no problem with extremely small areas, this is the project for you! I had to get some very tiny brushes as the ones included with the kit are not up to the task. I ordered the kit with the canvas mounted on a board.
Whoo, this is a great painting for people who love intricate detail, but also great for people like me who sometimes can't see the numbers and freestyle it. Tons of color, even if you get the basic 28 colors. In fact I sometimes upgrade to the Premium 48 colors for some paintings and I debated that for this painting and I'm glad I stuck to the 28 because it had enough color variation to capture the subtleties. I didn't want to dock the painting one star except this was the first painting I've gotten that had awful paint. I think that's a fluke, I'm surrounded by about 12 other paintings I've completed from CBN and all of them had great paint. I don't mind when a color or two needs help, I have acrylic flow medium for making colors creamier. But this paint was so weird, it was like painting with egg whites, even using flow medium still had it stretching like slime and it was every color except one. I couldn't find a dilution that would make it smooth. I don't know if it matters but in this case my paints were connected in lines instead of individual tubs with the stickers in the plastic case. So 5 stars for this painting, amazing detail and color, but (sorry) had to take one off for the weird stretchy paint.
This has been a great product, and is a perfect thing to work on after work! You get a lot of bang for your buck because it may take me 3 years to finish this piece!
Teilweise sind die Farbflächen zu kleinteilig, etwas mehr Großzügigkeit würde das Bild am Ende natürlicher aussehen lassen. Aber ich bin ja noch nicht fertig und werde das Endprodukt gerne rückmelden. Nachbestellung von Farben, der Service, die Qualität sind ansonsten hervorragend. Bitte Wasserbilder zB. I am a Canadian expat and my mother and I have always been artistic and lovers of art. I miss my country and this painting helps. It is a place I am familiar with in Canada and although it makes me homesick, it makes me happy that those places exist and have inspired such amazing works of art. Really great set. At first I thought the paint colours for the water were off, but from farther away, they blend nicely. This painting definitely looks its best farther than 1.5 meters away. I got the framed one, but this would look good in nearly all types of frames! Really tough to figure out some of the colours and places though! So use the numbered paper to help you!
This one was more challenging than I expected. I love the finished product though. I time my paintings and this one took 128 hours. It doesn’t have to take you that long but I like to do multiple coats of each color for even coverage. I also received a very simple version first and the colors were off. I emailed customer support and they immediately knew what must have happened and sent me the newer version of the kit. Great customer service!
I picked this one because of the lovely picture and the detail that it would require. I loved the whole process of painting it and the beautiful outcome. My plan is to collect 9 or 12 of my favorites and turn them into a 'quilt' wall hanging. Thanks!
I was thrilled to see paintings by Tom Thomson (Canada's Group of Seven) being offered. I loved doing this painting. It was the most challenging so far but turned out so well! Hope we'll see some more Group of Seven artists as well as Emily Carr!
Very, very pleased with the quality of this paint by number. Canvass and paint are superior to previous kits I’ve had. Good coverage, even the light colours. This one is detailed so it’s not done yet but promises to look great. Would have given 5 stars but one of the paints (#20) was slightly ajar when it arrives so it’s a clumpy mess. Too thick to thin with water but have figured out a technique to deal with that. Plan on getting the other Tom Thompson. Brushes are adequately but might want to invest in some othersfor all the detail work.
CBN has a great selection of pictures and I really love this one! Looks awesome on the wall along with Birch Grove. The paint seem to have a bit more tint and I love the red lines because they are easier to cover. My first CBN had red numbers too and that was really great. (Hint, hint!)

I ordered this shortly before the Canada Post strike started so shipping was not great. The product is fantastic though. I gave it as a gift and the person loved it.

I don't know what happened to my kit, it looks like I was the only one to receive a kit where the water of the lake was supposed to become lilac and purple, following the numers!! The yellow was a cold color, far from the one used by the painter. Generally I think that most colors are too saturated and look very different than the original. Maybe that's cinese color taste. That could be ok for some people, but if the kit is sold as a paiting by Tom Thomson, I think it should look like the original. I experienced the same with "The blue Vase" by Cezanne, the colors are way too saturated. We love some artists also because of the colors in their paintings ... I think this painting was "over-detailed", many very very small details are useless and no artist paints that way. The canvas and all the rest was ok.

If you purchase a paint by numbers kit expecting to paint the exact artwork the artist produced, you will always be disappointed. This is also disclaimed at the end of the product description: "Please note we use the original artwork image for display. We'll send you the paint by numbers conversion of this image. We always try to capture and represent the artwork as accurately as possible, but this is not a perfect replica. Paint by numbers is a way to recreate the original piece while having fun and relaxing." I'm sorry you did not enjoy this kit which is highly rated. Additionally, when you say the many small areas in the canvas are useless, this is simply not true. Depending on the number of small sections and colors used, you can make the same paint by numbers kit look like a child's or a professional painting. It was very difficult. I didn't think it would turn out good but to my surprise it turn out pretty darn great.
this is the second paint-by-number kit I'll have done by this seller. the first one was of such excellent quality, I cannot wait to get started with this one!
I won't get to paint this for a while but I was very impressed by the packaging. All the paints were there and none were dried out. The paint colors that are used the most were doubled up where as my last couple paintings from a different company didn't do this and I ran dry. It looks complicated but that is why it is an adult painting. More of Tom Thompson paintings or the Group of Seven painters would be appreciated for the Canadian buyers.
This is the highest quality paint by numbers I have ever received. It was framed perfectly and arrived well-packaged and pristine. It arrived within a few weeks vs other companies that took a few months to arrive and were wrinkled or damaged. I can't wait to start it!
