Choose the finish that best fits how you like to paint and display your artwork:
- Rolled (No Frame) – The canvas is shipped rolled inside a sturdy PVC tube. It’s easy to store, travel with, or take to your local framer.
- DIY Frame – You receive a rolled canvas plus four wooden stretcher bars. Simply assemble the frame, stretch the canvas at home, and enjoy a snug, custom fit.
- Pre-Stretched on Frame – The canvas arrives already mounted on a wooden stretcher frame. Start painting right away and hang it up as soon as you're done.
- Canvas Board – The canvas is securely fixed to a 0.2-inch thick wooden panel, giving you a sturdy, warping-resistant surface ideal for tabletop painting.

It depends on the kit level, the size and your own pace. As a guide, Beginner kits take about a week of relaxed painting, Intermediate kits a little more than a week, and Advanced kits two weeks or more. A larger size or Premium detail adds time. It's not a race, so enjoy the process.

Why Cardinals Show Up on Christmas Cards
The northern cardinal does not migrate, so it stays at backyard feeders right through winter across much of the eastern US. Only the male wears that bright red; females are a warm tan with red touches. It is the state bird of seven states, more than any other bird, and its red against snow made it a natural holiday symbol.
Painting a Red Bird Against Snow
Contrast is the whole trick here. Paint the sunset sky and the snowy fields first, then the farmhouse, and leave the cardinal and the red bow for last so the reds sit bright against the cool tones. The pine and berries on the mailbox offer small, detailed sections to finish on.
A good fit for anyone who feeds the birds all year. Find more seasonal designs among our paint by numbers kits, and hang this one in an entryway through the winter.
