Brittany Through Japanese Eyes

Henri Rivière was a French artist who fell in love with Japanese prints, especially Hokusai and Hiroshige. He spent summers in Brittany and recorded its harbors and fishing boats with clear outlines and flat areas of color.

Working the Water

The wavy pattern on the water is the fun part. Fill it in rows from the bottom up, then add the sails and boats, and finish with the far shore and sky.
