Veelgestelde Vragen

Randal Spangler is an American fantasy artist from Missouri, beloved for his whimsical, story-filled creatures. He's best known for his "Draglings," adorable little dragons who love books and chocolate chip cookies, set in an imaginary world he calls Ohmlandia. A trained artist and veteran of over a thousand art fairs and Renaissance festivals, his charming, cozy style has won him a devoted following.

Pure cozy fantasy. You'll find The Literate Dragon, the book-and-cat themed Cat Shelf, and the cosmic The Universe In A Jar, each packed with playful detail, warm light, and that magical, dreamy feeling Spangler is known for. They're a treat for anyone who loves dragons, books, and a touch of whimsy.

These lean toward Intermediate and Advanced. Spangler's scenes are rich with detail and color, lots of little story elements to bring to life, so they suit painters who enjoy a more involved project. Newer painters can still take one on as a rewarding challenge.

They make a wonderful gift for fantasy fans, book lovers, and anyone who enjoys cozy, imaginative art. A finished Spangler piece brings warmth and personality to a reading nook, bedroom, or studio, and the charm of his characters tends to spark a smile.

What to Expect from a Randal Spangler Kit

Lots of little stories

Spangler's pictures are packed with tiny elements, from book spines to glowing stars. That makes them intermediate to advanced projects, best enjoyed a few evenings at a time with good light and the finest brush for the details.

A gift for book lovers

A finished Spangler brings warmth to a reading nook, bedroom or kids' room. Each kit includes a numbered canvas, matched acrylic paints, three brushes and a reference sheet, so it is ready to wrap. Pick a pre-stretched canvas or canvas board if you want it ready to hang the day you finish.

Tips for Painting Fantasy Detail by Numbers

Start big

Fill the large background areas first, then move in to the characters.

Good light

A bright lamp makes the small numbers on book spines and stars easy to read.

One color at a time

Painting all areas of one number together keeps the palette tidy.

Touch up last

Let everything dry, then go back over any tiny gaps with the fine brush.
