Well I have had my first painting and working on it occasionally for about a month. I am impressed as to how quickly and easily it was done. It looks like I did a good job on it. I did cheat some on the real small spots and painted over a couple with the wrong color. But it looks good, and passed time . This one is the beginners now I will start on an intermediate. Lastly for me, it's something to do, not a profession.
This one was more difficult because I ordered 48 paints. However I think all the extra colors gave it depth. Now my friends want to do one. I would highly recommend getting the canvas already stretched and on frame

I love this painting and I can’t ever have the original so now I have my own copy. I loved working on this.
I primarily use paint by numbers to strengthen eye-hand coordination since I’m a senior and know that such activities are very useful in keeping your brain active. Plus you get a nice piece of art in the process. I’ve been painting freehand since I was young so am very familiar with painting techniques, but paint by number requires exact attention to detail and therefore is really good for maintaining brain acuity. I always wanted a print of “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. Now I have a painting of it which I did. These paintings give me a real sense of accomplishment. Enjoy them especially during the winter when I’m inside much of the time.

It depends on the kit level, the size and your own pace. As a guide, Beginner kits take about a week of relaxed painting, Intermediate kits a little more than a week, and Advanced kits two weeks or more. A larger size or Premium detail adds time. It's not a race, so enjoy the process.
