Paul Signac Paint by Numbers Kits
Paul Signac (1863 to 1935) was the French painter who, with Georges Seurat, developed pointillism: small, separate touches of pure color that blend in the viewer's eye. After Seurat's early death in 1891, Signac became the leading voice of Neo-Impressionism, and his later harbors and coastlines moved to larger, mosaic-like strokes full of Mediterranean light. Our Paul Signac paint by numbers kits follow those strokes closely, so you see how dozens of small color patches come together as sea and sky.
Paul Signac Paintings to Paint by Numbers
Capo di Noli
A blazing Italian cape painted in 1898, now at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne.
Blessing of the Tuna Boats at Groix
Tuna fishing boats gathered off the island of Groix in Brittany.
Entrance to the Port of La Rochelle
Sails and the old harbor towers of La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast.
Flowering Trees
Blossoming trees built from small dabs of bright color.
The Man Behind the Dots
Painter and sailor
Signac was a keen sailor who owned many boats and painted ports all along the French coast. In 1892 he sailed into Saint-Tropez, then a quiet fishing village, and made it his summer home.
Writer and champion
In 1899 he published From Eugène Delacroix to Neo-Impressionism, explaining the color theory behind the style. For many years he was president of the Société des Artistes Indépendants, supporting younger painters such as Henri Matisse. His Portrait of Félix Fénéon (1890) at the Museum of Modern Art is one of his most famous works.
Pointillism Meets Diamond Painting
All four Signac paint by numbers kits are rated advanced, with many small color areas that reward patience. Every design also comes as a diamond painting, where each resin drill works like one of Signac's dots, for example Capo di Noli and Entrance to the Port of La Rochelle.
