Carl Reichert Paint by Numbers: Classic Dog Portraits
Carl Reichert (1836 to 1918) was an Austrian painter, born in Vienna, who built his career on animals, above all dogs. His portraits are small in scale but full of character: a patient St Bernard, an alert Doberman, a pug with a curious tilt of the head. Our Carl Reichert paint by numbers kits let you recreate that 19th century charm, fur and all.

Every breed
From toy dogs to Great Danes, he captured each breed's build and temperament with real affection.
Tips for Painting a Carl Reichert Kit
Painting fur by numbers
Reichert modeled fur with many close tones. On the canvas these become small neighboring sections, so most kits here are rated intermediate. Work from the background toward the dog and save the eyes for last.
A gift for dog lovers
A finished Reichert looks at home in a hallway, study or den. For someone who would rather see their own dog, our pet portrait kit turns any clear photo into a numbered canvas.
More Dogs and Animals
