How to make your diamond painting
Step 1: Preparation
Select the diamond painting kit you want to work on. Inside, you'll find a canvas with a design printed on it, small diamonds (also known as drills or gems), a diamond applicator tool, a tray, and wax or gel. Clear a flat workspace, unroll the canvas, and lay it out flat. This might take a while, and you might need to place some heavy books on the corners to help it stay flat.
Step 2: Get to Know Your Canvas and Tools
Inspect the canvas. Each square on the canvas corresponds to a diamond color. The color and symbol guide, usually found on the side of the canvas, will tell you which color each symbol corresponds to. Fill the applicator tool with wax or gel, this is used to pick up the diamonds.
Step 3: Start Your Diamond Painting
Peel back the protective film on the canvas from the area you want to start. Pour some diamonds of the required color into the tray. Use the applicator tool to pick up a diamond, making sure the faceted side is upwards, then stick it onto the corresponding symbol on the canvas. Work in a small section at a time, and continue this process.
Step 4: The Finishing Touch
You're nearly done! Roll a kitchen rolling pin across your piece to secure the diamonds. Next, apply a craft sealant (you can find this online or at a local craft store) to keep everything in place. And voila! Your diamond painting is now ready to sparkle and shine on your wall. But remember, the real joy is in creating it, not just the finished piece. So, have fun with every diamond you place.
